Founder Alexandra Miro was born in London to art collector parents who instilled a rich passion for structure, form and colour within her from a young age.
Empowered female artists in particular spoke to Miro, from the Japanese painter and sculptor Yayoi Kusama to the more contemporary English painter Chantal Joffe.
Miro believes that swimwear is all about celebrating women, their bodies, personalities and life choices. To this end, she always designs with strong women at the fore.
